I think she's already vying for position as next year's hay raker rather than hay inspector. (Oops! I totally forgot I said I would explain the haying process to those of you who asked about it back during haying season. Sorry!)

  5. Aw, she reminds me a lot of a cat we had named "Oil Leak", or "Oily" for short. She was actually the neighbor's cat but she hung out at our place more. She really loved the kids and played with them all the time. Sadly, she apparently got caught by a loose dog and we couldn't save her. (Can you imagine spending $500 on a cat that's not yours?) :(

For those of us that are old enough to remember the good ole cartoon of Tom & Jerry. Your farm is so neat, love the cats, and the misty morning, well lets just say your blog is awesome!

  10. The gears - I think they're gears - behind her look like a crown.

  12. Okay, so I really want to subscribe to your RSS feed (I use Google Reader), but first -- it was hard to find the button for it. And second, when I finally found it and clicked it, it subscribed me to an address with an empty RSS feed (?).

Any ideas? I really don't want to subscribe via email. Hoping you have another link that will make the RSS feed work....

    Thanks!

  13. Hi Everybody,
Thanks for all the nice comments!

    Joan,
    Too cute - I love it! : )

    Hi Teddi,
Sorry you had trouble trying to subscribe to the Farmgirl Fare RSS (and my apologies for the delay getting back to you).

As for finding the subscription button, you're right - it is kind of hidden. My whole blog needs a redesign that includes a second sidebar so more information can be easier to find. One of these days! : )

As for the RSS subscriptions, I'm pretty much clueless when it comes to RSS, but when I clicked on the ADD THIS widget in the sidebar and then clicked on several of the subscriber options, everything looked fine. However, when I clicked on Google Reader and then clicked on SUBSCRIBE, it came up a blank page with 'Title Unknown.'

If you look at the bottom of the left sidebar of that google page where it says SHOW, there are three options: the first is (title unknown), the second is FARMGIRL FARE, and the third is IN MY KITCHEN GARDEN (my offshoot garden blog). If you click on FARMGIRL FARE, that should pop up the right page. I have no idea why it's doing this or what that 'title unknown' option is, but hopefully this will at least solve your problem.

I'm not sure if this link will work, but you can try clicking here to go directly to the google reader sign up page.

Another option is to go straight into Feedburner using this link.

Thanks for taking the time to write and let me know about your troubles. I really appreciate it.

    I hope this helps! : )

  14. Farmgirl susan: Awesome! Thanks for the tips. Going directly to Feedburner worked perfectly.

We just got back from a week in Iowa, and I loved the green, green, GREEN of the end-of-summer. It was the first time this California girl (I was born in Oregon, but raised in CA) had been to a farm state. Beautiful. Once I realized that they, too, have Internet access, I totally wanted to move!

So it was neat coming back from that experience and finding your blog. So glad to be subscribed (and reading "back issues" as I have time). Keep up the great content!

December 2015 update: Hi! For some reason I can't figure out, Blogger hasn't been letting me leave comments on my own blog (!) for the last several months, so I've been unable to respond to your comments and questions. My apologies for any inconvenience! You're always welcome to email me: farmgirlfare AT gmail DOT com.

Hi! Thanks for visiting Farmgirl Fare and taking the time to write. While I'm not always able to reply to every comment, I receive and enjoy reading them all.

Your feedback is greatly appreciated, and I especially love hearing about your experiences with my recipes. Comments on older posts are always welcome!

Please note that I moderate comments, so if I'm away from the computer it may be a while before yours appears.

I try my best to answer all questions, though sometimes it takes me a few days. And sometimes, I'm sorry to say, they fall through the cracks, and for that I sincerely apologize.

I look forward to hearing from you and hope you enjoy your e-visits to our farm!
